`RANDWICK`
Randwick - "Leilani Lodge" 8 High Street Kensington Sydney NSW 2033
Leilani Lodge has been the home of champions over a period of 25 years. From Leilani herself through to Ming Dynasty, Hula Chief, Beau Zam, Sky Chase, Campaign King to Dane Ripper and Saintly. It consistently produces top class horses year after year.
Our key staff at Leilani Lodge include:
|
John Thompson - Foreman
John Thompson is the fourth generation of his family to enter the racing industry. Being inspired by the success of his father, Vic Thompson Jnr and his grandfather, Vic Thompson Snr, John joined his father’s stable after leaving school. He spent eight years as Foreman and enjoyed winning a Sydney Trainer’s Premiership along the way.
When his father semi-retired, John spent four years in charge of Bill Mitchell’s Sydney stables at Randwick. Following Bill Mitchell’s decision to relocate to Victoria, he invited John to join him but John elected to stay working in Sydney. The opportunity opened at Leilani Lodge and he joined us in October 2002.
John is no stranger to top class racehorses, having Group 1 performers under his care in all stables of which he has been Foreman.
He is married with two young children and is a welcome addition to Leilani Lodge. |

Bill Charles - Racing Manager
Bill works in the administration side of the stable specialising in programming. He played a part in the structuring of the present NSW racing programmes and has intricate knowledge of it. He can provide up to the minute information on all the horses under the care of Bart Cummings. |

Veronica King - Sales, PR & Marketing
If you have always dreamed about racing a horse with Bart Cummings, then call Veronica. Whether you are a first-time owner or already understand the process, she would be happy to answer your racing queries. Veronica can also update you on the horses we currently have available. A racehorse owner herself, she really enjoys the opportunity racehorse ownership gives you to meet wonderful people and have a good time. Have a look at the “Horses Available” section to see some of Bart’s latest selections.
Veronica decided to leave the commodity trading world behind in 2003 and fulfill her dream of joining the racing industry. She is responsible for Bart’s thoroughbred sales enquiries. She also organises a variety of functions held for owners throughout the year, such as raceday gatherings and BBQ’s at Princes Farm. Together with the Racing Manager Bill Charles, Veronica ensures owners are up to date with their horses progress and stable news, and she regularly attends most thoroughbred auctions, race meetings and trials with Bart Cummings. Any comments on the website regarding horse ownership should be directed to Veronica and she would be happy to help you with your enquiries.
