It all started in 1958 with Bart?s first Group 1 winner Stormy Passage, a full brother to Storm Gleam, the dam of Storm Queen, when he won the SA Derby. Next in line was Group 1 winner Anna Rose, who won the VATC 1000 Guineas for Bart in 1963, a full sister to Storm Queen.
Foaled three years after Anna Rose in 1963, Champion filly Storm Queen recorded 13 wins from 20 race starts from 1000m up to 1600m. Ten of her 13 wins were at Group level and an amazing six of these were Group 1 wins, winning three as a 2yo and three as a 3yo. She was only unplaced four times with one of them being her first ever start as a 2yo.
Bart?s success with the dynasty continued when he trained four time Group 1 winner Stormy Rex to win three Derby?s, the SAJC, VRC and WATC. Stormy Rex is a son of Storm Ruler, a full sister to Storm Queen.
